DEMCON is the ideal partner for small and medium-sized enterprises in the
introduction of their innovative products to existing and new markets. DEMCON
has all the required disciplines at its disposal – from mechanics, electronics
and software to industrial design, prototyping and production – in order to
translate high-end, complete mechatronic solutions into products with a good
chance of success. By integrating all these disciplines and focusing on
manageability, DEMCON knows how to make market introductions successful. To do
this, it takes into account aspects such as ‘make or buy’, short lead time, and
service and maintenance.
In addition, DEMCON sets itself apart with its phased project approach that
keeps in mind the bigger picture. This project approach is described in detail
under Working Method. Some
of the seven steps are supplemented specifically for product development, as
follows: 1. Formulate a user scenario and perform a competition analysis
and a product design study. Make an inventory of which standards the product
should conform to. 2. Produce a design concept. Elaborate on the
user scenario. Make an initial estimate of the end product’s cost price and
select the production techniques. 3. Set down in detail the cost price
and once-only tooling expenses. Involve the right suppliers in the
production. 5. Manufacture an initial prototype of the product with
rapid prototyping techniques for the more complex machine
parts. 7. Check whether the user understands the product by conducting
user tests. Analyze the assembly. If possible, conduct initial tests for
certification.
