DEMCON, as part of the innovative Total Epicardial Device Delivery (TEDD) project, is working together with Groningen University Medical Centre (UMCG) on an innovative surgical instrument, including its continued development, as well as its clinical validation.
The instrument is being designed to accurately and efficiently attach electrodes, of a pacemaker for example, at an optimal location on the heart’s wall through means of a minimally invasive surgical procedure. The instrument is being developed such that all required actions (navigation, analysis and positioning of the electrode) can be performed in a smooth workflow. All developments to ultimately be able to clinically test the instrument are being carried out as part of the project.
