Demcon analyzes, develops and realizes thermal systems and innovative solutions in the field of both cooling and heating system design and hardware. The extensive experience and knowhow is with the company Demcon kryoz. They realize systems operating from cryogenic (extremely low temperature, -200 °C) to extremely high temperatures (2000 °C). The internally developed cryogenic micro coolers are used for cooling samples and sensors used in detection, medical and life science equipment. Furthermore, services include creating temperature control solutions using a variety of methods such as mechanical coolers (Stirling, Pulse tube, GM), PCM materials and thermo-electric coolers (Peltiers). They include also the design and realization of heat exchangers and general thermal management.
Demcon kryoz also has extensive (cryogenic) thermal expertise in, for example, cooling processes and energy transfer. By performing analysis from multiple physics disciplines, they provide more insight into the thermal system, for example by mapping the dynamic behavior of liquids and temperatures. For this analysis, they use an internally developed LEM (lumped-element model) Toolbox, with which a system or process can be simulated and analyzed dynamically in a very fast, transparent and flexible manner.
In addition, they offer knowledge about vacuum and compressor technologies and they can take responsibility for system integration when the thermal solutions are part of larger (high-tech) systems.
