DEMCON develops unmanned platforms based on autonomous control, robotics and real-time data processing. Using these platforms, companies and governments can improve their activities in, among others, inspection & maintenance, public safety & security and process automation. In this still young market, DEMCON unmanned systems will make an industrialisation step in the development, testing and production of unmanned platforms. To this end, the broad competencies of the DEMCON group in the fields of robotics, computer vision and data processing will be combined with new expertise in the fields of ‘unmanned’ navigation, control and platform design.
The technology involved is very complex because many factors and components and varied expertise come together in an unmanned platform. DEMCON unmanned systems has a diverse team of aviation engineers, industrial designers, prototype, test & quality engineers and experienced, certified R&D drone pilots. Whenever necessary, use is made of the broad expertise and competencies of the DEMCON group, in terms of software, hardware and embedded systems – from system architecture and mechatronic design to certification and series production.
User friendliness and functionality are key to the development of high-quality, affordable solutions. The focus is on complex environments where workers and robots collaborate, or where robots can replace workers for dangerous, labour-intensive or routine tasks.
DEMCON unmanned systems offers customers various project and product development possibilities, with a wide range of innovation services, from concept and feasibility study to rapid prototyping and industrial production according to existing standards such as CE, ISO and IP ratings. Its office is equipped for prototyping and in the immediate vicinity tests with unmanned systems can be carried out. For large-scale testing, Valkenburg Airport, near Leiden, and Space53, the innovation cluster for unmanned systems at the former Twenthe airbase, are available.
